Another Change in Direction

So, no more exercise before work.  No worries.  I still had plenty of exercise afterward when I went home to my son.  There were Boy Scout meetings with lots of games and interaction, regular play times with his rather rambunctious friends and walks around the neighborhood to learn new things.  I didn’t lose any more weight but I didn’t gain any either.

Then I took a new job.  It was a rather strange shift, that I admit I enjoyed quite a lot.  I’d work from five in the morning until four-thirty in the afternoon.  I also sat on my fat tush all day long.  It was an hour drive each way and when added to the eleven hours a worked each shift that made for a long day.  I was usually very tired when I got home and so dinner wasn’t anything overly ambitious.  Crock pot meals were the best, lean pot roast with lots of root veggies or swiss steak with tomatoes and broccoli but there were plenty of burger and fries meals as well as pizza and a salad.

I hate to admit it but my days off weren’t much better.  The first day off I usually slept and lounged a bit as I was still exhausted from my week.  The next day was catching up on all the housework that I’d neglected since I was too tired from all the hours.  I know that these aren’t good reasons not to exercise and eat right, but they are the facts.

It took about a year for my weight to get back up to 235.
